How to: S2K master cylinder into a 96 DX WITHOUT spacer!
This really serves no purpose other than pure cosmetics. The bore is the same from the 96 dx and the S2000 master cylinder, but the fluid container is built into the S2000 unit, so it looks cleaner.
Some companies sell spacers like this:
S2k Spacer
For $40?
You don't even need that if you follow this simple walk-through.
Enough yapping, onto the pics.
Here's the stock unit in place:

and here is the S2k unit:

In the bay with the DX unit:

I yanked the DX unit out and set it next to the S2K unit:

Notice how the arm that attaches to the clutch pedal is longer on the S2K unit?

Take off the clamp:

and acquire a 8 X 1.25 tap and die:

Thread the S2K unit so it has more threads on the arm:

Mount and bleed the S2K:

Kick back and enjoy the cleaner look:

After:

It's nothing major, but little things add up.

Alternatively, you can use a standard 38mm wastegate flange with the holes notched out as a spacer. Same thickness and looks ok if you round the edges off.
I like your solution since it's cheaper and looks factory. My solution came from a friend and it's pretty easy, but does cost you almost $10.

Ah, that's a nice OEM DIY
I'll keep this in mind and bookmarked, already did the CRV cluster & trying the integra shifter + map light into Civic, hoping to get 4th gen prelude seats and maybe fit 5th gen prelude mirrors as well onto my sedan. Shame it shows mainly in tucked engine bays; nice write-up very thorough.
