Default Window Regulator?

I did a quick search but couldnt find my solution, so thats out of question.
I fixed my window today which was having trouble rolling, the rubber was folded in not wrapped around the window. Seemed to roll smoother after that, but I used pliers and now the crank (threaded metal **** that the crank handle bites) is stripped of its threads and the crank handle wont do a thing. So my question is, is there a way to replace the crank without replacing the whole regulator? As if another crank from another honda model will work with my 99 sedan drivers side regulator? If not, I have no problem getting a oe replacement from rockauto, but thatll be costly.

Those units are not meant to be disassembled. Is it theoretically possible? Yes. Is it way too complicated to be worth your time? Yes.

If I were you, I would buy the replacement regulator, and while you're waiting on the new one to arrive, start trying to disassemble the old one to see if you can work on it. It's a rather complicated gear system in there - don't expect it to be easy, and don't expect there to be any schematics for it. Those kinds of schematics are reserved for the higher ups, and the people who designed them in the first place.

Good point, not worth my time. I didn't get a good look at it earlier when I was adjusting the rubber tracks today, but I did see there was a hex bolt or allen bolt on the back of it, oh well. I did look at the OEM schematics of it and noticed it wasn't a purchasable part, so that's another thing; if there's anybody who has gone through this problem though, not going to give up on this thread just yet.

I tried, all the Civics were stripped of them, even the Civic they just got in that day. I posted up a thread in a local forum so i'll give that a week before I buy a regulator online.

There are also online junk yards. And did you post a WTB thread in the Marketplace?

At Majestic, the price for a new one is about $80, which also includes shipping and handling.

Oh, I never heard of online junk yards. Nope, not just yet i'll do that though thanks for the reminder.

Hmm, for some reason I can't visit majestic honda. I live on the island of Guam (USA territory) yet I can only visit them under a proxy and i've tried dozens but only had one proxy work, and on top of that even when I did check the website under a proxy, it wasn't loading anything after I chose my vehicle model. I haven't purchased from any OEM dealers but I can visit oemacuraparts and bernardi

Here: I just tried to enter the part number for a window crank handle and it took me back to that page over and over again

Most listed around $50 as well; bleh. I might as well install a power regulator, gotta find a panel too then.

Takes more than installing a power regulator to have power windows.
