Default no lift shift...

i have been having a problem with no lift shift, i ordered a chip with no lift shift and for some reason instead of no lift shift it actually has a rev limiter of the no lift shift spot... what do i need to make no lift shift work in my car? i have a 93 del sol with no cruise control

what management do you have? a "chip" alone won't do that anyway. Has to be through the engine management interfacec.

Assuming the "chip" is probably using crome - You need to wire up a clutch switch to the ECU for the no lift shift to activate IIRC.

What's the purpose of a no lift. Shift??
Isn't there a risk of grinding the crap outta your gears??

You stay in boost between gears. Letting of the gas activates blow off valve from the vacumm, then the turbo has to spool back up. No lift shift keeps the air pressurized between gearing. You could def grind gears if youre new or not good at it. I would imagine it takes some practive. Basically you would have a clutch switch so when then clutch is depressed it lowers the rev limit to the RPM that it would be at in the next gear.

So if you shift at 8rpm. the no lift shift would be about 6500-6700rpm (depending on gearing) That way once the clutch it pressed in you can stay full thorttle and the rpm should be at the correct speed for the next gear without falling out of boost

technically, the blow off valve vents pressure while allowing the turbine wheel to remain at speed, thus lowering the time it takes to build positive pressure... with no blow off valve the turbo stops, taking even longer.

and whats the point, is the op boosted? im gonna guess no.. and unless you're on the track it doesnt serve a purpose... using it on the street just makes you look like a typical ricer fanboy idiot

it is boosted and i was just curious because the guy sent me a chip with no lift shift and i cant get it to work, does anyone know the exact wire i need on the ecu to run to a switch? and do i have it ground off once the switch is activated? i will be getting a switch from the junkyard today to test

You need to have the clutch switch wired to an GPI in the ECU to properly activate NLS.

yes i know that, the guy said its wired under one of the clutch switches but i do not have cruise control so i need to wire it in manually, i can only find one clutch switch on the ecu and was wondering if you guys might have known which pin i need before i go hacking up my harness to find out

it depends on your program. different ones use different pins.

its an option that uses a switchable input, normally the clutch switch.
without that clutch switch grounding an input into the ecu, the ecu doesnt know when the clutch is depressed and therefore cannot adjust the rev limit for flat shift

More importantly, are you worried about NLS without having the car properly tuned?

its all testing, im building a motor so i dont care if this one blows, but i seen i can do NLS so i had it put on the ecu, now i cant go over the NLS point, and i know how NLS works i just dont know which pin to use

This is why you just don't buy a "chip"
If you can't go over the nls point something is wrong... Don't even mess with it and wait till you can take your car to a physical tuner to have it set up

i know what is wrong, im not gonna have a stock *** motor tuned, and i jsut need to know what pin people are using for NLS with chrome pro... not asking why it wont go over NLS point because its obvious i dont have it wired in... so does anyone know what pin chrome pro uses for NLS???

Fts is an easy way to break a lot of parts. I have it on my car but I don't use it. I'll use it when I get a 5k transmission that can take the abuse

i know people that have been running chipped boosted civics for years with no problems, my buddy just finally tuned his fully built b16 that was pushing over 300 to the wheel and he ran it on a chip for 3 years, i plan on tuning it just not paying 300 dollars to have a 100 dollar motor not blow up, and ive been searching google for 2 weeks and found a few pins but they were all k series forums and i seen nothing about crome pins, and ill give b8 or what ever you said a try and see what it does

Well if its like a basemap its better than nothing.

The d series forums have a lot of info on crome, its worth a look. I googled crome full throttle shift and got more threads than i could look through.

So id search on that exact phrase. Hope this helps
