cam plug Qs,and valve cover gasket identify/replace.
i need to replace my cam plug and figure i should do the valve cover gasket too while im there,(also doing a valve adj., IAT sensor, a vac line and a few other misc. things, feel free to recomend other things i should do for maintenance while i have the cover off.)but...
i started looking around for parts and cant seem to find my cover listed online, all the other cover look different than mine, they are all block style, mine looks more like a cr-v b20 valve cover? but i have seen motors look like mine and listed as an "LS"
mine

whats listed for LS, and all other non vtec integras.

just by looking at the picture i can tell the gaskets are different, and i dont want to order the wrong one... and mine looks nothing like those.
lol
so im still hung up on what gasket to get?
also does the valve cover have a corilation to the cam plug? lets say "if" i have a different valve cover would that effect what cam plug i need? or is is totally dependant on the head?
after doing some research the OEM cam plugs arent that great, could i put a lil honda bond on a new one that just for some extra protection?
i dont really wanna dish out 20 bucks for some pswrdJDM mad tight bling yo
just a little differance and im prolly over thinking most of it but just like to double check,
thanks for helping guys.

What year make trim & trans is your car?
Is that the original engine or was it swapped in from another car?
What year make trim & trans did the engine come from?
Most online oem discount part stores allow you to enter the above (requested) information.
Then the site will show you a photo like the one that you posted, but when you scroll down, from that photo, certian part item/numbers are not on the list.
The parts not on the list are for a different trim package or different trans.
My 2000 Integra LS w/auto uses the valve cover gasket set (0611-pr4-030)
My 2001 Integra R Manual uses the valve cover gasket set (12030-p73-000)
Note...the photos for both cars are the same, but only the specific part item/numbers (for your specific year, make, trim, & trans) will be listed.
Regarding the cam plug seal...look on e-bay for the BLOX, for about $9.99 + shipping.

The cam seal plug (12513-p72-003) Is used on all 1996 -2001 integras and on 1997-2001 CR-V also.
Here's how to hunt for the cross references, for parts (Acura vs Honda):
It's easier than I make it seem, so here goes...
bernardiparts dot com
at the top tab choose Acura
choose your model ie...Integra and click on GO
pick the year, trim, and trans
at the pink drop down menu, choose 'engine'
scroll to 'cylinder head' and click
look at the photo and see item #7
scroll down to the parts list and copy the part number for item #7 (12513-p72-003)
scroll back to the top of the page and paste the part number in the part number field
click enter
scroll down and look in the center of the page for 'other vehicles this part can be used on', and click
scroll down and you will see a list of cars.
scroll to the top of the page and click on the top tab, which says 'Honda'
paste the part number (which you still have on your clipboard) in the part number field
click enter
scroll down to the middle of the page and clidk on 'other vehicles that this part can be used on'
scroll down to see the list.

to you guys!!
thanks again!
alright so i got my gasket kit and an going to do the adj. and plug soon, this will be my frist time actually opening up the engine and a little worried about correct steps/procedures so every thing seals up right and stays tight.
i have a chiltons(for what its worth
)so i know torque specs and order but the manule says very little about sealants, and adhesives. i know there are lots of things in the engine the need special compounds, but im unsure about just the VC.
does VC gasket or cam plug need special installation prcedures?

I make and sell billet aluminum cam plugs. All cnc machined right here in the USA... $13 shipped for a blank and $18 for a custom engraved one.
It's a 98+ Ls valve cover. To be honest i think there all the same 90-01 on the ls. The heads aren't different at all, just get a valve gasket set for a 98+ and you'll be fine
