Icon2 Air intake question

I'm new to the honda world. I have a dsm but now have a 89 crx and will be drag racing it. It will be bracket racing so it is still and auto with a d15b2. Im doing the mini me swap with the P28 ecu. My question is can I use do the pipe right at the front bumper with the, I guess its a velocity stack, on the end with out the need to chip the computer. I know that the 420a eclipse motor will cut fuel if there is any kind of pressure. I am not sure how the honda computer works. Thank you for any input.

Ok thank you. Honda's are so much easier than dsm's. My eclipse gs would have cut fuel for doing that.

Yeah, we have speed density air metering (Manifold Absolute Pressure sensors) instead of Mass Air Flow sensors.
