Icon2 Rookie Swap Help!!!

Alright i just finished my swap on my ed3 with a 91 LS motor. Got innovative mounts and for the harness i converted Dpfi to Mpfi, followed every detail on the procedure that i have. So i fired it up, the car turned on but it boggs for a couple mins. and dies throwing a code 4, so i plugged the blue green wire on the ecu C1 and blue and yellow to C2, also checked the wires that i did on the harness which i connected to the dizzy everything still intact no loose wires, then i also swap the dizzy itself with 2 other dizzy i used both from 91 teggy. But there was no improvement its still boggs and die . Could someone tell me what im doing wrong? This is the site i got the procedure for dpfi to mpfi conversion harness http://hondaswap.com/swap-articles/d...writeup-49557/

you've either pinned something wrong, or its not getting the right voltage

I triple check the pin outs and wires that i did and everything is good, wires are pinned right and intact. Didnt really check the wires voltage, but tday imma try to run the ckp sensor which is the blue/grn and blu/yllw wires directly to the dizzy and see what happens.

Does it sound like a subaru? Try and check the timing on the motor just in case. On the dizzy make your wires are 1-3-4-2 if I remember correctly, also if you haven't done so change spark plugs who knows how long the old ones have been in there.

No it doesnt sound like a subaru, its starts quiet except the fact that it starts boggs and die. I thought the patterns on a ls is 1, 2 on the bottom and on top is 3,4? But imma try what your telling me. Thx. Spark plugs are new.

Code 4 is crank position sensor has to do with your dizzy. Check your wiring brand make sure no pins came loose.

Okay i have a question, does soldering the wire harness makes a difference than twisting the wires together?

Cause the way i did the wires is twist them together then put electrical tape. I didnt think its going to make any difference, thats why i twist them also didnt have solder.

Also i pinned the orig. wire that came from C2 to B9 instead of B12. Which i corrected already.

So after correcting the errors i made, i start up the car and it fired up, this time it doesnt bogg as bad and when you press the gas and let go the idle goes low to where the car feels like is going to die but cont. to stay on at a low rpm.

Also i dont have, the o2 sensor connected cus i didnt extend the wire long enough.

Now the car is throwing a three code which are code 14(IACV) 16(Fuel Injectors) I cant rem. if its still throwing code 4(CKP Sensor).

Im running out of idea, getting to the point of giving up on the car which i dont wanna do.

Appreciate you guys helping out Thank You.

You deff need to solder and heat shrink every connection. It make a big difference. Also make sure you use shielded wire where needed.

I didnt use shielded wire for the CYP or CKP wires... I made a complete wire harness for my H swap and didnt/havent had a problem. It might be your use of the twist and tape method, that might be fine for radio wiring (for some) but NEVER for this type of situation. Continuity the wires and make sure they go exactly where they should.

So you guys think its the wiring issue, the way i connected it?
Im also sure i connected the wires right, i read two schematics that i got online, read it carefully so that i wont **** up and go back and re-wire.
I guess the only thing i ****ed up on is twisting them together.

Imma solder it today, hopefully that is the problem.

Thx you

Reset the ecu and read the codes, also adjust the dizzy and the idle screw on throttle body.

I think the twist and tape method should not be used, especially on a car.

at the very least use butt connectors and heat shrink. solder + heat shrink is the best way you can go.

you can get a solder iron and the solder for cheap, and it also will make the harness look much better than looking like it was done quickly and carelessly.

and fix your 02 sensor wire, that could be whats making this problem since you seem to have not put the car into open loop (or is it closed loop.. dont remember)?\

I should have fuel and spark, cus before i soldered all the wires the car was able to start but idles low and somewhat boggs. Then after i soldered the wires, the car just crank and wont turnover.
