Default Civic No Power

Hey guys, i have been searching for the past few days about this.

My 99 Si just dies after i turn the key to start it.

When i get in the car, and i put my key in the door chimes. Then when i turn the key one click the radio omes on, two clicks my radar detector comes on and sometimes the dash lights light up, but as soon as i turn the key one more click to start it, everything dies.

One strange thing is if i keep the key in the first postion with the door buzzing and the dome light on, and i press the brake pedal, try and honk the horn, or turn the lights on it kills it.

I replaced the ignition switch, and checked the battery. I am going to check the Main relay, and also check the ground by the thermostat tomorrow.

This is puzzling me and if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it!

Thanks!
Dan

Check your ground wires, sounds like it could be a potential ground.

I work at Advance Auto and let me be the first to tell you the battery testers are not always 100" accurate. It could read good battery one minute with 500 CCA then the next drop to 400 CCA and so on. Try jumping the battery off and seeing if it will start, if not look into your grounds.
