Default H22 Headbolts same as F22?

Looking at ARP's website and they dont list an F22 app.

Anyone know if the F22b1 bolts are the same as H22a?

the engines are the same deck height, chances are high that they will fit. dont know if honda beefed em up for the extra compression though. probobly not anyway if you need me to measure these bolts lemme know.

PS: does ARP make a stud kit for the 'Lude?? If the bolts are infact cross fitting that would be nice.

I'll check the site above.

Does anyone have h22a bolts...I have the F22b1 ones sitting in the garage, but thanks to those who offered to measure the F ones.

No dice.

Checked all the ludes. Thiers are all the same length (185mmX12mm, 10 pcs, 31415).

The F22b1's: (199X12, 1pc, 93697) & (163X12, 9 pcs, 25958)

Damn.

Anyone have a source for aftermarket fasteners other than ARP?

arp should be able to make the necessary hardware given you give them the exact specs and measurements, someone once told me

Yeah, I shot them the same email...guess it'd be custom so I'll prepare to bend over.

The service manual say NOTHING about using new bolts. May just get new OEM ones and call it a day.

Guess I could always weld the head back on.

i was always under the assumption honda used torque to yield. most auto manufactorers do.. even if they're.. not i'd be leary.

read: throw them away after done.

btw which hole is that one bolt thats longer????

how much?

Crowers are about 600 on the cheapside.. 650-675 typically.

Probe is making rods for the F series now .. about 259.00 from flatlander. Couple people have been having good luck with them. Are they beefy as a crower?? no.. but for someone running a mild boost app like me 259 = nice. Probe is a big name int he domestic world and are the people who provided me my components for my Mustang project.. top notch stuff.

Far as *my* head work goes... I'm probobly using stock hardware on the B2 head until SOMEONE will step up to the plate and make oversized stainless valves and bronze guides.

they're lightweight rods probobly best suited for a NA application, but would be fine on a low/medium boost project (like im doing). the quality is good, but i'd pay the extra 20-30 bucks to upgrade to the beefier ARP bolts (sorry i cant remmember the ARP p/n# for it). better than stock.. thats for sure.

Eagle flatout doesnt make rods for the F series (including H23A1) ... nor do they have any plans to from what I'm told.

ohh i c.. i guess those rods are out of the question... cuz i plan to up the boost (20psi) once my build up is complete. i guess i have to shell out 300 dollars more for crower not if i get a hook up from someone.....

there was a guy here selling some Crowers for like 350... probobly sold by now.

Crower is a bunch of crooks.. they're taking advantage of the market IMO. It would offend my deeply to pay 600+ for a set of 4 rods.

Importbuilders.com uses Probe and Eagle rods in their blocks. In one engine that makes 480 whp they use Probe rods. The way I see it, these are plenty strong enough for what I want. Proble makes these rods for the F22B1 and http://www.flatlanderracing.com sells them for $279 a set. I think these are the rods I am going to try.

I trust probe. They bought what was left of TRW's forged piston division (after the TRW breakup) so i expect some good things to come from them. They're always priced extremely reasonable.

I expect Probe rods to be good enough for my motor, since I am only shooting for 300 hp out of the F22. I mean, if they can handle 480 hp, why should 300 hp out of a f22 be a problem? Plus Importbuilders.com uses them, and they use cheap ****.......only the good stuff.

Oh yeah, niedejb, have you priced the main and rod bearings for our motor yet?? I was wondering how much I am looking to spend on bearings since I plan on doing my build very soon.
