Icon2 quick clutch kit question

Hey guys just wanted to get some feed back on this. Would it be bad to put in a stage 4 clutch kit into a d16z6? I've heard that it would be stupid to do it and only to use prob a stage 2 or 3 at most?

Stage doesn't mean anything. Get a clutch that will hold the power. As simple as that.

http://www.clutchflywheel.com

Any brand they carry. If your motor is stock, get a stock replacement or organic clutch kit. You don't need anything stronger than that.

As stated above stage doesn't mean anything. Pick a clutch that can handle the torque your making or planning to make, there is no point in spending money to buy a clutch to handle high tq if you never plan on making it!

Even if you legitimately plan on making high torque, there's still no point in getting a high torque clutch until you're actually making that torque. Higher torque clutches are generally harsher to drive with, and wear out faster. Sure, a 4 puck unsprung clutch with a heavy duty pressure plate can hold that 400ft/lbs you're planning on making in the future, but if you spend the money on that clutch now, it might just be worn out by the time you're actually making that 400ft/lbs. You've wasted the money on the first clutch, you've driven around looking like a jackass chirping tires everywhere (welcome to the world of unsprung clutches), and you've abused your transmission and mounts more than you needed to.

OE replacement, or organic. That's all your stock Z6 needs to see. Even if you have basic bolt-ons, that's all you need. If you're boosted, a 6 puck hub sprung clutch will be a proper match.

Go to the website I posted. Find their phone number, and call them. Every time I've talked to their customer service people, they've been truly smart about what they were selling me, and didn't try to give me any upselling bullshit.

Judging this guy just off the OP, i dont think he should be considering a un sprung clutch at all.

Sintered iron FTW? Do it, OP, go with a sintered iron clutch!

I wouldn't put any brand of clutch on my car but Clutch Masters, ACT, or Exedy.

Exedy/Daikin makes the Honda OEM clutch and I've always used them in several forms, I've always been happy.

The Exedy Stage 1 is probably the best street/mild clutch setup there is in my opinion. Feels like stock and can handle ~210wtq

I run this one. Strong clutch. The stiffer pedal takes a while to get used to but loosens up after the break in.

Horsepower means nothing to a clutch. Torque means everything. Get a stock replacement or organic clutch for now, and when you're actually seeing that 350, replace it with a 6 puck sprung hub clutch.
