Hi all,

I have a 99 Odyssey that will abruptly die. It runs great all other times.

It seems to always die when my wife drives it. Every time I do, even going on a weekend trip (4 hours one direction) it drove perfectly fine for me.

I have given the vehicle a full tune up, tried different fuel additives, and ran higher grade gasoline. It is not throwing any codes.

I have searched on the internet and the only thing I could find was replacing the main relay. I replaced the main relay and thought that might have fixed it because it didn't have a problem for several days.

Finally I was driving it a couple day ago and I felt the steering stiffen like the vehicle stalled. I looked at the dash gauges and they were all at 0. I threw the vehicle into neutral as I was still coasting and went to start it but it was still running and all the gauges started working again.

This is getting frustrating. Please help.

you might want to check you ignition switch

 

That is the next thing I'm gonna do.
