hey honda tech! i need ur guys's help, so im looking to buy my first car, i just graduated high school this month and i need a car, anyways, i was on craigslist and i came across this ad for an integra under $2000. being curious i looked and the description said it was a real type r, not a clone. i saw the pictures and it has everything a real usdm R has, except it has a sunroof. but the car being a real type r is the least of my concern, any integra for that price is a steal.
so i emailed the person (a woman) and she took about 2 days to reply, but she did, i asked her more about the car and for more pictures and heres what she said:

My 1998 Acura Integra Type R, runs and drives excellent. It has been extremely well maintained with a full service history, and has not been involved in any accidents. Only 98,064 miles!
The Manual Transmission shifts smoothly and the engine runs perfect (1.8L 4 Cylinder). Title is clear and free of liens.
I bought it when I was serving in RAFB San Antonio, Texas but I was promoted and transferred to RAF Elmendorf in Anchorage Alaska for a 3 years period, so I do not want to let it ruin in my backyard, therefore I need a fast and reliable buyer.

The car is already at our Military Logistic Department from RAFB San Antonio, U.S. Army, crated and ready to go. yea its a scam.
no itr has a sunroof

 

RAF is a british term for Royal Air Force. the brits dont have a base on american soil.

i saw this same scam with those same pics running on ebay last year

 

tell them you want to go see it and person and drive it off

i swear i remember seeing that or a similar car with the aftermarket sunroof

ad sounds like a complete scam, but, i always have fun with the 419 scammers. i just ask for an address to come to. chances are they will never reply

Sad to say, most of the "military" stories are faked. Scumbags using our armed forces as a way to lure people into a scam

 

SCAM. unfortunately the military stories have been used for too many scams. it gives us real military guys/gals a bad name.

 

I'm saying you should mess with her. Ask for other pics and ask to fly out to see it first

Yeah, its a scam, of course its a scam. I like to mess with them. They tell me where its at and then I ask to meet up and they say its in a different location.

These scams are pathetic, especially when they use the military to do so. The lowest kind of people. Seriously. Its a scam, don't buy.

 

ive had these types of scams go as far as exchanging phone numbers and texting..gotta be careful man..

RAFB - Randolph Air Force Base. I live in San Antonio so I know. Either way it's a scam. I e-mailed someone the other day about a car on craigslist and the response I got back was similar to yours except the were a deep sea diver and had to move immediately. SCAM.
