Icon2 Motor swap z6 bottom y8 timing issues

Ok here's what I have. I have an 89 crx that I have put a z6/y8 in. We have the car running but it runs like there is a huge cam in it. I have an adjustable cam gear 38 tooth with a y8 dizzy with z6 internals.wire harness was redone by hassport. I haven't been able to find any specific specs on timing other than advancing cam 4 degrees. But no matter what is done the car doesn't run right. Any help would be greatly appreciated There are no cel's Also a p28 cpu no chip
