hello again. my d16z6 has 189,xxx miles about to do a leak down test because ever since i came to wyotech in laramie, wy my car has been acting funny... now to the point, i raced my friend and he said while i was in front of him he saw alot of white smoke... also he said it smelled like he was behind a dirt bike... i just changed my oil and filter at 189 even and i used 5w-30 mobile1 fs, but before i used 5w-20 same brand and fullysynthetic as well. and when i would get to 6k it would take its sweet time to get close to 7200 and when i went to 5-30 its almost like back home and climbs to7k no prob but i still notice its not pulling like back home... hints elevation... my coolant is clean, does not get low. my oil smells clean and does not get low either. car drives good but doesnt matter if car is cold or warm under full throttle i get white smoke and only at full throttle. if u need more info like mods or just questions plz ask. thanks for any help.

 

just to add to my post my buddy said it also looks blueish... but my oil level is still in the same spot that its been in since i've changed it.

 

how long has it been since you moved?

try this stuff, it helped me squeeze out a few extra thousand miles out of my last daily driver, works pretty good it made the smoking go away in that car

mmm....r u sure this thing can work?????I have change my valve seal, skim retainer, change piston ring,still white smoke coming out. I'm a bit sceptical bout oils that act like additives.coz it might make the engine oil heavier then usual. as you know honda is very sensitive to weight issue.

 

well im looking more for a fix than a aditive. also when i checked my oil level its alittle above the 2nd hole in the dipstick. doesnt smell like coolant, doesnt smell burned. coolant level is still the same.

 

Compression test the engine. Leakdown wouldn't hurt either.

If you have a compression tester, you can use that as a leak down too. Just remove the schrader valve.

 

you changed you rings? did you replace your headgasket everyone knows white smoke is HG. if its blue then its rings or sumthng but then youd be buring oil. if you did rings and didnt replace HG then id say it was that. any over heatings issues or buubles in coolant?

 

dont got a compression tester but im buying a leak dwn tester next fri, so i will post up the data i get from leak dwn. thnks for all your help.
