I just put together a swap yesterday and began to crank the motor. It doesn't start no spark no fuel. Also with koeo I get no CEL MIL light on. I used the 98 Civic harness and tapped a vtec solenoid wire in the harness green yellow on the 1st connector 8th position. Any suggestions will be very helpful. Bad harness? Bad ECU? Also the oil pressure doesn't look like the round plug but the flat kind like the starter solenoid. I connected it with a wire hoping no oil signal would prevent the no start condition...no luck. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

 

BTW there are no crank sensor and I havent connected the EVAp vent solenoid and I believe it to be a intake temp sensor directly on the nmanifold instead of it on the rubber intake like my old Civic. No 02 sensor connected (i need to buy and extension). So there are a couple harnesses open. There are 3 grounds or more? The one on the transmission, valve cover, and on the thermostat housing. MAybe im missing an extra ground? Please help!

 

Need more info on build, ecu, what all you did...

 

basically stock 96-97 itr. ECU is the obd2a p73.

Check the thermostat ground:

 

Does the CEL work? Do you pull any codes with a code reader?

 

with key on engine off i get no check engine light on the dash which makes me believe I have a bad ECU or harness oil light brake light seems to come on. But the harness worked fine on my old D motor.

 

Check whether the CEL bulb has been removed from the cluster or whether the bulb is blown.

 

ok i feel like a dumbass. I forgot one connector and now the engine starts got CEL on only oil light and CEL is on (which is expected) Thanks for the help!
