tubular style civic lock cylinder?
when I purchased my car, 2years ago, the previous owner told me that they did not have the keys to the doors, and that the owner before them changed them and didint give them the keys. So the first thing I did when I bought the car was I changed all the locks. I was going through stuff the other day, and re found the locks. after searching on the internet, I found zero info about them. There are no markings on them, and they were a direct swap with stock lock cylinders. if these are more secure, I might try and get keys made. anybody seen or know anything about these? I think they are called barrel, or tubular locks... similar to ones on vending machines
And if you lose the key for these, then what happens? Are locksmiths able to re-key these? If not you'll have secured the car against yourself.
these look similar to solex locks... these can only be mounted on older cars that dont have the lock in the door handle
i figure if that happens, im climbing through the trunk!
you think these are easy to break in? i know it was found that these type could be picked with a bic pen, but i thought that was on bike locks? thses look a little more sturdy than one on a bike lock or even vending machine...
im going to go to a lock smith tomorrow and see if he can make keys, and what his opinions are...

I'm saying from personal experience though, those locks are some of the easiest to pick. Not in the stereotypical sense of lock picking, but I can hit one with a drill bit and have it open in less than a minute easily.
