ok i want to purchase this s300 but i have concerns on its authenticity ive researched and can pretty much tell if its fake or not but this one is a bit different. most of the things i see are correct, (space between the a and t, d2 and d1 the same, small silver holes, r6 in the correct spot and has a hole through it) but the heatsink has to many fins and the number thas supposed to be below r6 is up in the top left corner. any help would be great thanks.

Is that a jdm ecu? May be a s300j 1st gen call hondataand they will be able to tell form that serial number. Also see if it comes with the cable so you download the software on your laptop and throw a basemap on there to test it before you buy it.

 

the ecu i from what i can tell is USDM i believe JDM ecu are smaller i have a p08 (JDM p28) in my car its small and square rather then rectangular. thats what i was gonna do as soon as my laptop is fixed.

 

I know the difference on the ecu's I have a jdm p72 and plenty of p28. I was just say that if you look on hondata.com they I think 4 version's of the s300 now (1st gen s300, 1st gen s300j, 2nd gen s300, and 2nd gen s300j) difference between 1st gen and 2nd gen is the 1st is Blue and 2nd is red.

 

yes i know the only things that really concern me is the number being in a different place and the heat sink having to many fins. i was just wondering if its real, a different model or whatever its a good price and i know i should just plug my laptop in and it will tell me all i need to know but my laptop is ****ed right now lol. but i just dont wanna lose out on this deal as most of you know getting an S300 is a pain in the *** for a good price.

 

how hard is it to call hondata and ask? you would've had your answer by now.

ive already researched and studied that and other pics countless times for more then 5 seconds and as you can see the pic i provided is just a little different. i just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on it. my search button does work btw.

Again. A call to the SOURCE; Hondata, could have given you the answer faster than posting on this forum and waiting.
And on the page that two people linked to it says the following;

They give you directions on what to do. There's a lot more than pictures on that page.
Now I'm no expert but your **** looks fake to me. "No space between a and t".

 

Even if it is a legit unit, who is to say there isn't a problem with it or the ecu?
I have seen several people come into the dyno trying to save $100-200 with used s300 ecu setups which are defective.

My suggestion:
1. Buy an s300v2 from a reputable dealer such as http://www.phearable.net
2. Get a free basemap included & free installation.
3. Get a warranty with it included.

It's a no brainier really. Buying used electronics isn't the greatest idea.
