Default over heating honda civic 1997 auto

after 3 to hours of on and off driving my car starts overheating, tail pipe in water hose bottle produces gas and water inside bottle disappears and fan for cooling some time works sometimes not, when water insdie bottle vanishes(sometimes not)the heating indicator goes up showing over heat
generally there is no leakage outside from radiator or bottle
what is the problem, which thing is better to replace or change to avoid heating???
will somebody suggest me about this thing??what is the rectifying procedure???

Does it overheat when driving and at stop, or one of the other? Always overheat?

Did you check the coolant level in the radiator itself, is it ever low?

Classic old honda.
Probably a head gasket or a crack in the block or head.
Usually cheaper to replace engine with a similar running engine.
OR
To replace the head gasket you need to check the head for warpage.
Mill the head replace timing belt, water pump, engine seals, cam seals, etc.
Money starts to add up going the rebuild route. To do it right.
OR
Time to upgrade to a swap & in your case convert to manual.
OR
Sell it as is and move on.

I AGREE WITH ALL YOUR IDEAS
BUT
1- I WANT THIS CAR TO RUN ATLEAST 2 MONTHS ,AFTER THAT I WILL REPLACE THIS ONE WITH NEW CAR,for time being i want this car to run properly without over heating

i have some clues about overheating problems
1-my car sometimes remain in 2nd gear do not go to 3rd or 4th gear that causes engine to use more power and in result it overheats engine
engine overheats boils water and water become steam and than temperature gauge rises

I HAVE ONE SOLUTING IDEA CAN SOMEBODY AGREE WITH ME???IS THAT WORKS???(keep in mind i want to run this car for only 2 months)

i put cooling fan on running mode all the time by removing auto on /off switch.that means engine on fan on,it makes my engine to produce less heat to boil water,is that works????
what is your opinion???

yes it heats driving and at stop both, and engine heats make water boil and than convert water into steam than the temperature gauge rises

1 solution that comes in my mind is that i put cooling fan on running mode by removing on/off switch it means engine on fan on,it drops temperature of water and water remain cool and do not boil??
is that works???is that idea good for only two months as i have plan to replace new car with this
please tell me about this idea is that work or not???

You can run the fan but that is not a fix.

Man it can a lot of things, a clogged radiator, bad water pump.

I would replace the thermostat first and see how it is.

The worst case is the headgasket is shot.

1.pop the radiator cap.

2.have someone start the car with you watching the open radiator.

3.if coolent shoots out of the open radiator cap then u know your head gasket is blown..

u say coolent turns to steam? no u r prob loseing coolent in the cylenders cuz u have a blown head gasket.......dude take your car to a mechanic.....

Did you actually do the test, or are you just assuming the test is for external leakage? I'm guessing you didn't do the test. If you had, we'd be able to tell you exactly what the problem is by now.

That's NOT a leakdown test.
Click on this link and do what is described and stop being dense.

Check the thermostat if your not leaking the thermostat could just be stuck closed not allowing coolant to pass into the motor
