Holy rusted metal batman. good luck with it for sure. I didn't even think you could save things that far gone these days lol. I like that blue though.

 

i was thinking...that rust doesnt look bad on the doors and quarters....

I can't wait to get it done and start driving it. First Honda I've owned, But I know there a fun time with endless possibilities.

@redm3turbo: Glad im not the only one who thought that lol. When originally purchasing that was my opinion oh this isnt too bad. then I took the carpet out, let out a few words sat on the ground starting at it seriously thinking about lighting it on fire, then went to find a floor pan and found out they don't sell them in Canada then went back debated burning it a few more times then took a trip to the wreckers and found a pretty good condition accident car.... Got offered to buy the whole center of the car, trunk latch, axle, heater controls, rear bumper and the back end parts that are rotted out for $225.00 and seen the light lol.

Now just waiting for the cash to be there. And going to cut er up and get back to work....

@cp0912: Anything is possible when you put your heart and mind to it. Dedication and perserverence as well as a degree of skill and knowledge and you can do almost anything....... I HOPE lol. Nah i'm going to cut the floor pan out of one that is not too bad over lap the current then weld it down there is surprisingly no actual frame rot on this beast which in turn means no structural damage so with that in mind I keep telling myself it is not too bad.

Planning on finishing floor once and for all on Monday.... Been so busy working overtime at work and wedding comming up etc. etc. all in all life lol. Now Monday is reserved for some quality honda & owner time to get her back in shape...

 

well it didnt happen. Got about 10 rivets in and then it got to dark drill died and no batteries for my flash light. started doing some body work and filled in where mouldings go....

She loves it. Completely in the build with me... If it wasn't for the fact that her nails cost me near $50 shed be right in there building it with me lol. I finally got the MAJORITY of the floor dont just a couple small pieces are needed to seal up the corners go over it with a good weld for security and stability and its all good to go. Even go to take it for a rip last night. Will be putting pictures up on site sometime next week.

So i need opinions here..... Fiberglass rockers...? I plan on using fiberglass cloth I have recently discovered I am alot more fluent with fiberglass not so much metal... lol I prolly just about cut my fingers off 100 times and got more mad then satisfied with metal at least I enjoy working with fiberglass. Or does anyone know where i can get decently cheap carbon fiber mesh?

I know i like the colour now but so much body work to do its gonna get ruined... and the idiot that painted it before me did not do a very good job at all... There are scratch marks from crappy prep work all the way through it and they painted mouldings etc and left piles of spot putty over repairs causing paint to bubble etc etc etc

Ok will work on getting pictures up on here. Just switched computers and my phone will not usb with this one for some reasons *face Palm* I work with computers for my job and then leisure time as well just about ready to toss it off my patio cause they never work right and are for ever having problems.

 

What do you need a computer to post pics for? Get a Photobucket app on your phone and upload. Paste the image code in the thread.

Um, you don't...I don't...I'm so confused.

Right click your pictures on your site. Click "Copy image URL". Paste here inside image tags. You're making it a lot harder than it has to be. Seriously, you could have this done in all of 5 minutes.

Seriously though, where did you find that thing? The bottom of a lake? You're going to replace half the sheet metal on it just to get it road worthy again.

 

Thank you. And actually I found it for $300 with a motor that only has 30k on it... and a new clutch flywheel pretty much tranny

 

Unless you really want to do all of that body work, I would seriously consider digging around for a shell to drop that motor and tranny into. You need to replace the entire floor pan. Both doors are rusted. Both rear quarters are rusted in multiple spots. The rear bumper is cracked. The boot lid is dented. I'm also tempted to say that the rust has started eating into the frame.

I'm not just talking from a "amount of work required" standpoint. If that car is ever involved in an accident, it'll disintegrate around you. If you plan on tracking the car, it wouldn't surprise me if it randomly decided to break one day. I would seriously consider getting a stripped shell. It'll be less work, and it'll be a hell of a lot safer.

I hate being a debby downer, and that's not what I'm trying to do. I'm just saying, that car straight up isn't safe.

 

Surprisingly there was no frame damage... I did think about a shell as well but people around here want $1000 for a not even rolling shell. like come on $1000 for something otherwise scrap metal. but ya so i decided to do the work myself. Atm i am just trying to get a decent looking honda to get on the road. Eventually when financially ready id like to make it a track car

 

Well, you've got your work cut out for you, and you're going to need a donor car for a lot of those body panels. Good luck on it.
