Swapped LS Shell With Vtec Swap-vtec not working
I recently did a swap on my 01 integra ls model , i swap my old 96 gsr swap, i used the vtec engine harness from the 96 , i just plugged in a (obd2b to obd1)gsr computer, do i have to run the vtec to the ecu? or is there another reason vtec is not working
if you swapped into an ls and didn't also swap the body harness to the ecu then yes you'll have to run wires for vtec pressure switch and solenoid... and if you're running a gsr ecu then you should be throwing cel's when vtec fails to engage
Yes if you have a CEL Vtec is gone
according to what i have seen of the If/Then file (Standard computer code for making changes) when the ECU turns on the CEL the first things to go in a OBD1 P72 is the Vtec, IAB's timing and injector pulse width. it also switches over to a Predefined fuel and timing map set.(it's a +/- value to the base numbers of the rom) witch is why a P28 can still run a b20 in limp mode.

you need to wire in wires for vtec solenoid, pressure switch, knock sensor, and a ground for the solenoid....go on google it'll take you 5 mins to figure out how to do
