Default Project EG want to sharpie then clearcoat

Hi guys im doing my planning for my paintjob now i was planning to have a dedication to a friend that pass away i was going to have our friends sign it with sharpie then cleat coat would that work? Or would it fade? Thank you

Sharpie? As in a marker for drawing? If you're going to draw on the hood or deck lid, and clear over it, the marker ink might fade to a light purple or dark pink under long sun exposure

My bet is it will lift. Urethane clearcoat uses a really potent chemical as an activator that can cause paint to lift (like painting urethane over rustoleum or lacquer over acrylic.)

Typically, decorations like this are done using airbrush and pinstripe paint, such as oneshot.

Since in making it like a mural for a pass friend im trying to make it personal what if i use auto paint and paintbrush and let them sign then sand and clear coat coat would that work?

buy a touch up paint pen... should work just fine...
