95 Civic D15B7 Headgasket / D16y8 pt #
I have scoured the google search engine, found that lots of people recommend using the D16Y8 head gasket being MLS over the graphite one. I was about to order one from Lordco (canada) and found on the Net that there are several different ones out there. From Lordco they carry Fel-pro 9915PT for the D16y8. Is that the right metal head gasket to use. I'd hate to do this job again and fork out another $60+. Any information would be great.
Thanks
Appologize for re-posting this if i did, i found only references to D16y8 headgasket and or D16z6. No real part numbers to confirm.

I just replaced a Y8 headgasket for someone on the weekend and used a KP gasket (they're made in Japan) I have no idea how it will hold up, it's the first one I ever used, but it looks exactly like an OEM Honda gasket. IIRC the guy I did the work for said he paid $40 for the gasket.
Edit: The Altrom part number for the KP gasket is BZ2901.

The felpro one was retail priced at $120 but with my father-in-laws account got it to $60, ya nothin much is cheap here in canada besides water. I never did price out honda dealer but when a timing belt is $70 as well as water pump i didn't bother
Canadian retail on an OEM Y8 gasket is about $112 Wholesale price is around $90.
Just as an aside the OEM Honda waterpumps are well worth the extra money. Anytime I tried an aftermarket pump they only lasted around 50,000kms or so. Aftermarket is around $56 or so, OEM is around $90 ($70 wholesale)
