Default Need advice for a turbo automatic d series

Ok ive searched and searched and only came up with a few results. Thats expected since its an auto, but im planning on turboing my girls sedan. I have the kit already. Its auto with a/c and a mini me swap. i only wanna run 6-10pds of boost. My question is will the auto tranny hold up(without rompin on it to much and frequent tranny oil changes, probably a tranny oil cooler as well)? Also itd be great if i could get some input from people who have actually done this. thanks in advanced

What year civic? '96 - '00 basically can't be done due not being able to control the trans with an OBD1 ECU. '92 - '95 Can sorta be done, but you can't adjust the shift points and the trans wont like it.

Pounds of boost is irrelevant!!! What Hp are you going for? I would personally avoid it or do a 5 speed swap and let her learn

This sounds like a recipe for disaster on stock internals

With the HP numbers that you've posted above, that transmission will be absorbing a lot of the power output before breaking.

I made 190hp on a completely stock EX SOHC with a Greddy kit and daily drove it for over a year. No issues. New owner never had an issue until he crushed the oil pan after hitting something on the highway a year and a half later. Would probably still be going strong. Was a fun car!

As far as the auto part goes..Mine was a 5spd. So I can't speak on that! Swap to a 5spd for longetivity would be my suggestion. All I did was rebuild the trans with new bearings, seals, carbon synchros and an LSD. Problem free! Just an idea to keep in mind....

Better yet...Do it and post up your results and be the first to post on this
