Knocking Noise coming from i dont know where. Z6-T
buddie has a D16Z6 engine turbo'd.
z6 head
new bisi 2.4l turbo cam
new super tech valve
aem gear
blox springs / retainers
skunk mani
blox 68 tb
750cc
bdl rail
z6 block
z6 crank
acl bearing
fjt rod
vitara 75.5
moroso pan
y8 trans
act 6 puck unsprung
stock flywheel.
pilot bearing is great
throw out bearing is new
took it out one night did past 100mph (once) slowed down the this knock came on. it went quiet then it came back. took the car home.
pulled the head off and found 2 bent valves. replaced with super tech and seals. reinstalled. knock was gone. hit the gas and it came back. but i felt the knock through the clutch pedal. so we thought of the flywheel coming loose. this happened to me in my b20v where the fly bolts backed out and it cause a "knock" as well as my friends ls. also fly bolts backed out.
so he pulls the trans this morning and inspected everything. all in trq specs and all bearings good.
i told him that day it was a bearing from the rods. he wants others opinion before he tear it apart. any idea anyone?
i still think its rod knock lol.

well..the trans off now. he did all this before i woke up..i wanted to make a video yesterday but i didnt have my camera.
he drained the oil and no spec of metal came out..but he took the pan off anyways and there was tons of shaving sitting there. bearings are more than likely done. thanks all.

pull one plug wire off at a time while the engine is running and rev it up like you normally would... See if the knock goes away. If it goes away when removing #1 cylinder, youve likey got a bent rod or spun bearing on that cylinder.
When you take away the spark, you take away all the force pushing the piston/rod.

its been taken all apart yesterday afternoon.
upon tear down
-bearings in #3 is gone.
-crank is done
-oil pump is done
-1 fj rod is done.
-ton of metal specs in the pan.
