Default HELP needed! Fan wont turn on, but car's not overheating!

Hi guys, I have this weird problem hopefully you guys can help me out. So, I had the car running with no thermostat, fan kicks on everything works good. Installed a new thermostat from honda, n waited to bleed the system. Both top and bottom hoses got hot after 15 mins so I'm assuming the thermostats opened up. However, the fan doesn't kick on so i waited another 20 mins it still doesnt kick on. My engine is really hot, but the gauge is still in the middle where its supposed to be.

What could the problem be??? How come it won't turn on while thermostat is in, but turns on when its not?

What exactly does the cluster temp gauge read when the engine is "hot"? Post a picture.

If I touch the motor itself it's really hot, but cluster reads that its fine... Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'm curious why the fan doesnt kick on after almost 40 mins :/

It's normal for an engine to get hot, right?

Post a picture of the temp reading in your cluster.

It takes a very, very long time for the fan to come on when the cooling system is working properly, and even when it does come on it only stays on for a minute or so most of the time.

Put a headgasket in for someone on the weekend and it took forever waiting for the fan to come on while bleeding the coolant. I didn't time it, but I want to say it was at least half an hour, maybe longer. It was about 72°F here, or as you guys like to call it, winter

the thermostat opens at 170°F on our cars.... the cooling fan will kick on when the coolant temp reaches 190°F. if the fan isnt kicking on then you need to check the coolant temp switch for the fan. The switch you are looking for is located in the thermostat housing. the cluster guage reads off the coolant temp sensor thats located in the side of the head right under the distributor with one wire going to it... hope that helps

Hey, I got the same problem except my fan never turned on. Just got done putting in my old-new swap. I know the fan works because I jumped it. My engine is really hot and the temperature gauge is where it's "suppose" to be at. Is it because I'm low on coolant? I opened the needle to bleed it but there was no coolant squirting out! No CELs BTW. Sorry to thread jack.
