Default 1988 Honda CRX Build

Whats up everyone. I am new to this site and I thought I would show ya all what I am working on. This is my second CRX. I bought my first when I was 16 and was sad to see it go a few years later. I am 27 now and came across a good deal on an 88 with a b16 swap in it so I decided to get back in the game.

The car that I bought was hacked up pretty good so I am going to spend the next few weeks/months/years making it my own.

This is the picture that I saw of the car before I went and looked at it

As soon as I got her home I went to work pulling things apart.. The first being the burnt plastic projectors with rigged HID wiring. Along with blacked out corners

Here is the engine bay after I began pulling stuff. If you look at the crossmember you can see where someone hacked it up to make the header fit. I have a innovative mounts traction bar that will be replacing that.

Another engine bay shot

Engine is out being rebuilt

Primered Engine Bay

After the first coat of paint on the engine bay.

Ill post more pics and keep you guys updated as I go.

Where did you pick it up from and where are you located? I hate buying **** people hack up cause you never know the depth to which they hacked! Have fun, if you need any help let me know.

Well it is def hacked up pretty good, but i wanted to do a ground up restorartion so that wasnt too much of a concern. i also got a good deal on it because the guy couldnt get rid of it. As far as the lesky motor goes.. its at the machine shop now being inspected.. ringed and getting all new bearings

I dumped the projectors and picked up a set of factory lights

Good luck with your build. I plan on doing a CRX project soon so I'll be watching this thread for tips. Have fun, looks like you've got a lot of work to do but I bet it's going to be fun.

It has potential, and looking better already! Don't be afraid of thieves, just be a step ahead. A good alarm and careful parking go a long way.

So today I cut out some of the bad metal that was hacked up and removed the old subframe/radius rods from the front of the engine bay and replaced it with an innovative mounts traction bar

This great ! I'm about to start a very similar project. All the go fast parts out of my 1994 CRX (Del Sol) are about to go into a 1988 CRX :-)

Thanks for the comments. It has been a lot of work, but at the same time its cool bringing something back to life that would have died in a junkyard.
