1996 Del Sol small idle help?! (Project)
Hello i am new to these forums but i have read and seen many cool things so i just joined. But my issue is that i have a B16A DOHC Vtec motor that was swapped in the car before I bought it. Not so shocked but it has a small idle problem.
I am mechanically inclined too and here are the things I have done to either attempt to fix it or bring it down:
-Cleaned IACV
-checked for vac. leaks
-tighten the Fast idle valve
-tried to reset the throttle (but turns out if i turn the bolt to lower the rpms it actually doesnt change n i hear a pop sound increasing from my muffler, n yes it is aftermarket so its noticable)
-Checked voltage on the sensors
-bled the coolant system
-Also tighten bolts near the throttle body gasket and intake manifold
Now after reseting the ecu I plug the IACV back in and start it, it revs between 1000-1500 rpms steadily. No check engine light or anything. still no change.
But when i did it once and then drove around the block the IACV light came on and so did the knock sensor but i think that comes on because of how it runs. So could it be the IACV and the valve is stuck. Because someone I know who works at the dealer said a valve could be open? I am running out of ideas and don't want to waste money left and right that wont fix the problem.
...also its a jdm motor i believe and has no purge valve on the intake manifold but the wire and one of the hoses that comes from the charcoal chamber is just lying in the back. i dont know if that is bad or not?
any help would be greatly Appreciated!

Is the IACV gasket in good shape? I always refresh mine with silicon grease when I reassemble. There are other o-rings like in the FPR that I treat with the grease.
yea i cleaned that out and everything, turns out i have a vaccum leak where my pcv valve is there was no tube going in or out the breather chamber. lol so ill see if that helps it. thanks tho!
