I recently just purchased a Vertex wheel and a nrg short hub, my question is the the horn button wont lock into place. The center of the nrg hub is too big for the horn button to fit. Has anyone tried using a momo horn ring to make it seat properly.

Normally the horn button snaps into the opening on the middle of the steering wheel and is not affected by the hub.

 

Not true...the short hub is merely a hub for the NRG quick release. The quick release is what you bolt the wheel to.

The horn button does not fit to the wheel, only to the hub (quick relase in this case). You either need to get the QR or get a standard MOMO hub for it to work properly.

 

Perfect thanks for the replies. I also did some more digging and momo makes a horn retaining ring that has the same bolt pattern as the wheel/hub and the inner diameter is the same size of the horn button. This should hold the button in place, I ordered it and will try it out.

 

Didn't have a problem with my Vertex/NRG setup:

 

I took a closer look at my horn button and it has been trimmed to fit the previous owners hub, and I found measurments for a brand new horn button and un-trimmed it would fit the nrg hub.

If anyone else runs into this the momo part number is #retring and I found it on ebay for $9.95 shipped!
