Default Guage cluster in French???

I purchased an 89 ef guage cluster thinking I was going to get a jdm one. Instead, I got one that has French writing on it. Has anyone ever seen one of these?

Of course the CRX was made in Canada. Doi!

Yeah, that's definitely a CRX cluster. I've had a couple kicking around before... do the American clusters not have French writing on them?!

this cluster was more than likely sold in a vehicle in a province in Canada that has both English and French as its official first language, hence the writing in both english and french.

Everybody calm down. Canadian_EF is correct. There are two (2) manufacturing plants in Allison, Ontario. One has been operating since '86, the other since '98. As far as I can tell, all 4th gen Civics and CRXs were produced from the first plant, particularly because it is documented as being the only plant on the continent that was both operating and producing Civics specifically during that time frame. CRXs are technically a variant of the Civic model, so therefore CRXs would have been produced in said plant as well.

All gauge clusters are like that in Canada. We're technically bilingual. Damn near everything is like that. I just found 2 of these clusters in my shed, probably gonna put em on ebay.

The North American spec Civic was made in Canada for the ED chassis. The CRXs came from Japan, not a hard concept here. Look at your VINs. They all start with a J if it's a CRX and a 2 if it's a civic.
