Default AC recharge questions

My AC doesn't seem to be cooling as well as it used to. Can you use those ac recharge kits on a ac that's been converted over to r123 or how does that work? I know it been converted since it has those adapters on the lines. I plugged in a recharge hose just to read pressure and I was at 30psi and for the temp outside I should have been at 50psi

It's R134a, and yes you can use a simple re-charge kit (without oil). But it too will all leak out. You will need to fix the leak and replace the receiver/dryer for the system to hold once again. Finding the leak is the hardest part. Usually you have compressor oil at the leak spot too and that stuff gets pretty grimey. Typical leak spot would be the shaft seal on the compressor. If the bottom of your compressor is all dirty, that seal would be suspect.

And for you to expect 50psi on the low-side, it would have to be over 95-105 degrees outside. Is that how hot it was? Here is the R134 Honda chart. To find the proper low-side pressure, you just follow the bottom of the graph over to the current ambient temp. Then from there you follow it up to the "Intake pressure" window. The bottom of the intake pressure window is for low humidity, and the top is for high humidity. You can find your local relative humidity by searching local weather on google.

Okay well I think I may have put too much. I ended up at about 55 psi and it was 90-95 degrease outside. Is that correct or to much?

Could also be a cloging orifice tube filter or temp sensor also could be compressor clutch issues or the compressor could be a fault
