Ok extremely new to honda world one thing I did learn from my cuz is for pa emissions turbos normally don't without a lick n stick sticker. So with that I have a 96 ek hatch with a b7y8 mini me in it ( I believe). All I want is 120 ft lbs of torque on all motor setup if anyone has done this please pm me to help with build. Realistically i know nothing about motors but I can tell that on the car it has headers highflow cat fart can and eBay intake. Any advice I got all the time and 2000 bucks.

hmm for $1000 you can swap a b20z in it, and have 147 HP and 133 torque

I know this sounds stupid but lvl of 1-10 what that difficultly of either swap. And its only me doing it minus fabrication and customization.

No fab. No Customization. Just the right axles, mounts ECU and some wiring.

any b series goes right in

all you need for either of the two (technically the same engine)

engine and trans (i suggest a b16 tranny tho :3) i think the only thing differnent with the mount is the rear T bracket (needs to be from 99-00 si)

you can use your stock harness (convert 3 wire IACV to 2 wire) and MIGHT have to change the CPK (sp?) sensor plug.

axles, you use stock integra axles, and a B series shift linkage. and the integra ECU, OBD2 plugs right in.. you MIGHT need to repin something, but shouldnt have to on a non-vtec engine.

personally i've never done a b series swap, but i've gone D>D and D>H and its nothing more than a d series swap technically.

I personally choose Hmotorsonline. Steve is an awesome guy ( a bit hard to understand sometimes haha) he has hooked me up a few time on miscellaneous RHD parts (rack and pinion, steering U joint, pedals, dashboard etc)

This is the type of post I just don't get - where are you getting those prices? I went to the three websites listed below the post I'm quoting, and a swap is just short of 2 grand. Where are people getting swaps for those prices?

hAlp.

Depends on the area. Some places these things are scarce. Others, not so much.

try local junkyards.

b18b1 is found in 94-01 integras
b20b is found in 97-98 CRV
b20z is found in 99-00 CRV

you can get the engine for $400-600
transmissions run about $200 for an LS $400-$600 for a B16
mounts are the same i believe!
axles you can usually get with the transmission, if not they are roughly $30 a piece, plus $25 for the half shaft. and $100 or so for an LS or Crv ECU.

you can easily spend as little as $1000 on a swap, or spend more if you want nicer higher performance stuff.

Remember that the B20 is federally classified as a light truck motor, and depending on how restrictive your state inspection is, technically should not pass.

as long as your not in california you're more or less ok.

chevy 350 is a truck motor
but they also put it in cars.

same with the ford 2.3L. they put them in rangers, then into mustangs

Ah....are people buying from salvage yards, or craigslist? That would make more sense. I'm in the DC area, so I'm sure there are plenty of engines around - but because everyone posts those sites, then posts numbers about half of those websites...well...'I were confuzzzzzzed.'

Anyone got some great junkyard dog posts?

just make sure you get the engine from a yard that has tested it, and provides atleast a 30 day startup warranty. ask if they ran a compression test, and leakdown test, and ask for the results in writing.

The 350 and 2.3 are bad examples, because they are available in American cars, as well as trucks. All that matters for Federal classification purposes is what chassis' the motor is available in from the factory. The B20Z and B20B were ONLY available in the States in the CRV.

I can't speak to all states, and I definitely can't speak to all localities, but yeah, California is the worst for it.

Holy bananas, that is cheap for the hp. Now I've got to do even more research about that engine (even though I'l almost certainly end up with a B18b1. )

and its not hard to put in either. its the same as doing an H22

need engine, transmission, cable shifter and shifter box, H series EK mounts, and axles are custom. hasport makes them, or you can do i think its Integra inner CV's, accord axles, and civic outer CV's???? i can't remember,

then the ECU, and you can use an EX harness, and use the ecu. and the exhaust is close but needs to be extended 2"?
