If you don't want to route it to anything then just plug it.

Is the type r throttle cable/bracket necessary? People recommended this to me before. What's the use for it?

Plug the nipple on the back of the manifold. That's how mine is and its completely fine.

Yes you need it if you have a gsr. There is no getting around it. The Type r throttle cable is also shorter because of the way it is routed across the intake runners. The way the gsr throttle cable bracket is placed above the throttle body and will hit the hood. Just look at the way a stock gsr intake is compared to a type r and you will see what I speak of.

I think I ran the nip on the back to the evap canister.

you don't NEED a type r cable, its just nicer to look at. I had stock gsr on mine for along time til I threw my type r cable on. Gsr will work fine, it hits the hood but not so much it binds and doesn't work.

It depends on which throttle body you are running.

You can use your stock gsr throttle body and throttle cable no problem. Some people choose to use a standard B series throttle body and ITR throttle cable as it looks cleaner.

That is correct, I was thinking more of the cable bracket that bolts to the runner in needed. $40 bucks for both cable and bracket, why not?

i do agree, it is a cheap upgrade. Don't forget if you're using a gsr tb with a type r cable you need either a type r pulley and spring or a d series one.

I have to say I don't like how "touchy" the type r.cable is compared though.

I used the pulley off my VX. What do you mean touchy? I would consider mine to have a touchy throttle response. I don't see how a throttle cable would cause the throttle to be touchy. What pulley are you using? That is the only thing I could see making a difference.

pulley and spring off a d16z6*I had laying around. It just "feels" different than the gsr cable did.
