my check engine light is on and as my luck presumes i have a jdm ecu.. soooo i cannot read the code...

what do i do? try and find a usdm ecu? or buy a tuning program? i just wanna see what the code is but my code reader cant connect to it.. any help would be appreciated. thanks (by the way its a 96 itr motor,trans and ecu)

JDM ecu do not use the OBD Port for interface. You have to jumper the blue connector on the passenger side above the ecu/behind the glove box and have the ecu flash the check engine light. Count the flashes and look it up to see what code its throwing

Be lucky your not in my shoes. I have a 01 R on a P28 and no code and im getting 100 miles a tank. I have togo back to the Dyno lol.

ha, ill def do that 2moro, i just wish it was usdm... the car runs and drives great, averaged 33 mpg, but i hate that i cant data log and watch thecodes with my laptop.. kinda pisses me off and i cant reallysell it because no ones wants a jdm ecu.. owell lol
