Default tranny cable????

Hi there,

Does anyone know the cable which connect to the tranny at the bottom of the tran, its at the middle for '02 accord?? My friend told me that is the transmission cable, and it should be check when we replace tranny fuild?? Any suggestions?? How could we remove it, and check it if its broken or not??? Thanks a lot

Mine is 4cyl, automatic, so I guess its a cruise cable, but not sure. I did follow it, and it connect to a black sphere ( thats NOT pretty sphere but kinda)

uhm...but for mine, the cable doesnt locate at front, if you get underneath the car, you will see it, its right in the middle of tranny

thats the shifter cable it shouldnt need adjust ment if the cars gears work on ever setting d1 d2 d3 d4 r p work right and the handle syncs with the letters then leave it

Yeah, I just clean that one a bit, cuz it has white stuff cover w it. I got really struggle to find the tranny cable, just CANT find where the heck it is

Only the 90-97 Accords have the down shift cable.
'98-'02 are completely electronically controlled.
The cable mounted to the bottom of the transmission that is near the center of the car, under the bellhousing is the gear selector cable. I think Honda calls it a 'control' cable.
No adjustment is needed if for every gear you select the transmission is in that gear and the gear selector on the dash lights up.

90-97 cars with AT can have up to three cables attached to the throttle body.
1- Throttle cable from accelerator pedal
2- AT down shift cable(automatics only)
3- Cruise Control connects to a diaphragm. (optional)

98-02 cars with AT will only have two.
1- Throttle cable from accelerator pedal
2- Cruise Control connects to a diaphragm.(optional)

There is no adjustment with the 98-02 transmission.

YEP, absolutely TRUE. With that "control" cable, we cant adjustment it also, cuz there is no bolt on that, and it was put in that position, no way to move it around :D
