Tranny bracket doesnt line up??? FRUSTRATION!!!!!
Okay so bare with me here im frustrated and pissed off. I just bought a new motor mount, the one that bolts to the frame on the tranny side. I also bought the bracket that bolts into the transmission. I swapped the car to a manual by myself...... 30 hours of straight work
I screw the bolt into the bracket, put the bolt through the mount and bolt it on. But when I try to bolt the bracket in it doesnt line up. The far left bolt hole will bolt up fine but then the right bolt hole is up about in inch from the bolt hole!
If somebody could please help thatd be spectacular im getting tired of throwing tools at the wall. Maybe because im 17 and impatient but I need some help pleasee

mount it to the engine first. then mount it to the actual chasis mount.
if it still won't line up once its just the Tmount and the engine then you have the wrong one.

s20 trans, d16z6 engine, 94 civic. I tried bolting it up the the tranny first then putting the bolt through the mounting hole but then its way off and doesnt even meet with the mount. I thought all of the brackets are the same that mount into the trans??
Id post a pic but idk how heres a link

auto tranny brackets are not the same. EK's are not the same. You can't just take any tranny mount from a honda civic and expect it to fit right.
You need to have the bracket that bolts to the tranny from a 92-95 civic SOHC man. transmission. Pics would help as well.

Also, if you didn't use an auto to manual aftermarket conversion mount for the upper transmission mount (or cut the automatic bracket/pocket mount off the frame rail and weld the manual version on) things aren't going to line up.

I think I figured out what it is. I dont have a auto to manual conversion mount. So the engine and tranny are sitting funny right?
Maybe this could explain my leak in the axle seal where it meets with the trans?
I tried fixing the leak like 5 times

Either buy the conversion mount or drill the spot welds out of the bracket welded to the frame and weld on the manual bracket.
Don't get upset. Auto to Manual conversions are common and with research you can find out anything. See the FAQ's section.
I give you credit for trying this at 17.
I've seen this conversion done where somebody welded a spacer on to the bottom of the auto transmission bracket to make it lower to reach the lower riding manual transmission.
If you visit some junkyards you can probably find the correct mount because they always pull the Honda engines out of the cars and the mounts are easy to access in the scrapyard.

the mount is not what is different. its the bracket on the passenger side frame rail.
you need a custom mount hence the "auto to manual" mount to line it up.
but between a stock auto, and a stock manual civic... the actual mount on the transmission is the same from the factory. the bracket is what is different. so the junkyard will not help you here -__-
well poop, I thought I had finished the whole swap. Looks like ill be underneath the car for a while again. I tell ya what though, working by myself throughout this whole swap is extremely satisfying.
I know hasport and innovative make mounts for this. Any other repable companys for a cheaper price?
