Cannot quite remove rear speakers, 3rd Gen 2D
I have new rear speakers being delivered today for my 1996 GS-R, and I'm trying to remove the old ones. But one screw is pretty much covered up by the rear quarter panel. Am I missing some trick here? I'm thinking about just filing down the plastic since it will be covered up by the grate anyway... let me show you what I mean.
I found this picture on another forum, and figured it would take me five seconds to do:

But this is what mine looks like, the one screw "#2" is tucked back just a bit too far...

Your thoughts? I really just want to file it down a quarter inch because that's all I need...

You do not need to remove the whole panel.
It can be a bit of a pain but it will come out the grill hole, yours, [speaker plate] does look like it is sitting forwards a bit, so if you have to "notch' the spot where the screw is, as you say the grill will cover the notch.
I have installed more then a few rear speakers in G3s and have never had to remove the panel, unless I was installing bigger speakers, [mid-bass drivers] and that's only because I replace the plastic housing/plate with a bigger, [more mass] MDF speaker panel. 94

Removing the panel will take more then 1 min, take my word for it, I have done it more then a few times, just on my own 94 Integra, and on a lot of others, but never just to remove the rear speakers. 94

I see a rear hatch panel, the seat bottom and the two seat backs, the rear seat strikers, the two rocker panels, [sill] covers, along with the hardware, [clips/bolts/retainers] that mounts them.
Along with a pic of your starter ground, I want to see a 3min. video of you removing the above, without damaging anything, or it did not happen.

Ya taking out that back panel thing would suck. Poor design if you ask me. For the rear speakers, I had a friend force back the plastic with a big screw driver as I took out the screw. Was scared it would break but it didn't and looks and sounds great now!
Still waiting for pic of your starter ground lead and a vid of you pulling the side panels out of a G3 or are you just full bullshit?
As for the 94, search it has been asked by smarter people then you. 94
