Default A new beginning for the front end...

1990 civic si.

I've been slowly upgrading my suspension setup. Started with Koni yellows and GC springs front and back. In the rear I put on a 22mm ST sway bar, new PIC bushings, and Function 7 lca's. The rear of the car feels planted and predictable, but the front still feels soft in the turns. I plan to put in new upper control arms, nothing fancy just Moog replacements, which come with bushings and ball joints. On the lower control arms PIC bushings will be installed. Currently the stock sway bar with new bushing is in. I'm hoping the refresh of the bushings up front will help, but I have my doubts. I am thinking about installing the Neuspeed tower bar and maybe even the K-tuned traction bar to stiffen up the chassis.

The car is my daily but feel is very important to me. I've read that running the 22mm bar up front is overkill. Anyone say other? And what's your experience regarding the Neuspeed tower bar or K-tuned traction bar? Waste of money? Pros and Cons please…

The car will never see the strip, maybe autocross, but primarily it's a daily running with the d16a6, which might be swapped for the d15b vtec. Thanks people.

Rack end bushing

Very overlooked $10 part as far as feel of the car goes

Good point. I already replaced the rack and mount bushings. On the wish list is the Quiafe rack guts... but that's low on the priority list.

I wouldn't bother with a traction bar if you are going for feel. Maybe if you have traction issues or trying to gain some turning performance, but for the money spent, it's not really a great solution IMO for gaining feel.

Consider an upper and lower strut bar - doesn't really matter who makes it since you aren't really looking for super performance. You just need to clean up some of the factory subframe flex.
If you are wary about non-brand name stuff, consider Cusco for the lower. It's solid non-adjustable design is more rigid than the ones with adjustable ends.

New rubber (or poly) Steering rack mounts, end-link bushings, upper control arm bushings, and radius rod bushings.
While you are under there, might as well change out the shifter bushings too!
