oil light on, new pump, nagano ITR swap
a few months ago i bought an ITR swap from nagano japanese in quebec, to my surprise when i first started it up the motor sounded healthy but i had 0psi oil pressure, so i installed a new oil pump and for 2 mo ths everything was fine, vtec kicked and all, a week ago i noticed my vtec no longer engaged. So today upon taking my car to wash i noticed my oil light is back on even with the new pump, no rod knock or engine noise, anyone have anything similar happen that they figured out the problem? im not sure where to go from here on fixing this.
check the single prong connector located on the back of the engine block to make sure there is not a descrepensy with the wire, or check continuity from ECU to single prong connector mentioned above.
The next thing would be analyzing the oiling system, and looking/diagnosing for problems of blockage or altered flow ect.
collapsed oil filter???

recheck oil pressure manually, absolutely. before anything.
what did you observe when you pulled the pump? how did you confirm failure? how did the housing look?
here's my theory right off the bat though; if the pump was bad, it was very likely to have been bad before the motor was pulled. so ask yourself, what damage could a bad oil pump have caused on a running motor? and that's where your answer probably lies. you're gonna wanna start looking at main bearings as a POSSIBLE culprit.
however, this is dependent on the fact that the oil pump was indeed bad when you got the motor
