93 honda civic pwr windows
Hi i recently bought a 93 honda civic. am having a problem with my power windows even when the car is completely off with the key out and everything the windows still work i dont know if this is normal since this is my first time owning a honda and also when i lock the doors the driver door unlocks itself i know it s probably some wiring problem but like i said this is my first honda so i dont really know much. if any one can help me i would really appreciate it
Your power windows should not work when the ign. switch is off.
Most likely problem, [assuming dash wiring harness has not been "messed" with] is power window relay contacts have fused, [relay is stuck on] to test, pull the relay out and either test the socket terminals, [there should be one that has power with the ign. switch off and a second one with the ign. switch on] or you can just plug in a new or known working relay, [it's a good bet there is another relay in the car that is the same as the power window relay.
Now your drivers door, do you mean it unlocks itself when it is closed, or when it is open and you lock the doors?
If it is when the door is open, that would be normal, a "safety" feature to prevent you from accidentally locking yourself out of your car.
If it happens when the door is closed the most likely problem is lock linkage or actuator needs adjusting. 94
