This is probably a newbie question but I was wondering what the number on the rods mean.

pulled out rods from a 93 LS and rods say 44.

if the number looks like it is on with ink and is on the side where the bolt goes thru, then those are numbers that honda designated certain rods of certain weights. as you can see and is said Ls's arent very well balanced. while the itr, is on mine all of the numbers were the same. but for your purposes they mean nothing as you will be balancing and reconditioning them anyways. if you do a proper rebuild.

Found this pic online. That's the number i'm wondering about (32).

I think you may be talking about the number on the side of the rod? one set says 2 and the other i think says 3. Also would it be a problem if i mixed one of the rods in into a set? (Three 2's and One 3)

I might got it all wrong and have all 2's. My parts are at work haha

those are not the numbers i was referring to. mine were like 23 or something but yea on the side of the rod on the big end. i dont know what those numbers mean that you're talking about. but theyre LS and you "should" put them back into the same bores they came out of. unless youre balancing the bottom end then it doesnt matter right now.
