I have a 91 si hatch and just changed the master cylinder and brake booster. The car didn't have brakes before this and still doesnt I have to pump the pedal two times for the car to slow down. I also changed the line from the master to the propotioning valve due to the nut being stripped. I bled the system twice using the passenger rear, driver front, driver rear, and passenger front method. And the car still doesn't stop. Can someone help out?

 

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder before installing it?

 

No I didn't I just installed it. Can I do it with it installed or I have to take it off?

 

Should be able to do it using the brake pedal.

Also check to make sure your brake booster rod is adjusted properly.

 

Would you happen to know what's the correct adjustment? Also it sounds like air is leaking when I press the pedal sounds like its coming from the booster can hear it under the dash
