Odometer issues
Alright... lets see if someone here can help me....
I have a 2005 Civic Si that is having odometer issues... I got the car new and have no plans of selling it, but this stupid state now won't let me renew my registration.
Several years ago the odometer stopped at a little over 16000 miles. The speedometer and other gauges work just fine. The miles displayed will go up while driving on the mileage and trip displays, but all reset back to the same number when the car is shut off.
I have done the self-diagnostics and "888888" was displayed and all needles went up and back down... which if I am correct means everything is good. Ive checked the ECU and backup breaker and they are fine. The only code that has been displayed when hooked up was for the pre o2 sensor (which is on its way here to be swapped out). I would think if the VSS had anything to do with it then there would be probs with the speedometer...
I cant find alot of info on what to do or look for... Im not sure how to get the correct milage to display again... and frankly I dont care what it says as long as I can get it registered displaying more than 16000 miles.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -David
