Does the stock Type-R exhaust make a resonance sound around 2500 --> 2000 rpm when decelerating??
I recently installed a Type-R cat-back exhaust on my '94 GS-R. I originally had just the Type-R muffler bolted to the stock B-pipe (because the Type-R B-pipe was on backorder). I noticed that when I decelerated that I had a resonance from the exhaust system. I originally thought that the resonator had failed in the stock B-pipe. So, I finally got my Type-R B-pipe and installed it about a week and a half ago and I still have the resonance sound when I decelerate.
So my question is, does your Type-R exhaust make this resonance sound when decelerating? This usually occurs around 2500 --> 2000 RPM (typically in 2nd or 3rd gear). I'm just trying to determine if this is normal with the Type-R exhaust.
BTW, I have noticed that the noise only occurs after the car has fully warmed up (10-15 minutes). I have checked and double-checked to make sure that exhaust wasn't touching anywhere and it isn't. I also removed ALL THE HEAT SHIELDS and it seemed to help on cutting down on the resonance sound, but I still notice it.
Any feeback you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!
PS. the Type-R exhaust (cat-back) is brand new!!!

I have a light "braaaahhhh" in that RPM range (3K-2.5K) when decelerating... as mentioned... sounds normal.
I put on a test pipe and noticed more of a noise with the exhaust, but before was nothing bad?
do you have a cat, high flow, test pipe?
make sure that you are connected good and tight back there.

I'm just not sure why it does it AFTER the car warms up?!?!?!?! Does anyone have an explaination???
I will have to say that the removal of the heat shields helped to reduce the sound level of the "braaaahhhh". The heat shield must have been an amplifier of the "braaaahhhh" sound.

D and I both experince this and we have come to believe it is the JDM 4-1 Header. Ours makes noise at any rpm range at any gear. The higher the rpm the louder it is. Just gives you more reason to crank up the radio
EDIT: Yes we both have the stock b-pipe and 2.5 cat.
