They're definitely both the same. The b18c1 (gsr) has a restricter plate in the carburetor that you can remove with an allen wrench, then if you pull that out, it is essentially the same as a b18c5 (type-r). If you want to make the c5 faster, just swap vtec solenoids off of a del sol and jb weld the IACV port closed, easy extra 25 bhp. Don't get me started on stickers and floor mats, those are the true secrets to goin' fast n *****

Restrictor plate? really
is that off the throttle body?

The type R has different internals, higher compression and a different V-tec crossover.

Lol the type R has a flux capacitor in it, duh.

But no really, different bottom end and head with different internals.

No carbs, restrictor plates, or flux capacitors needed.

to my recollection they are essentially the same motor just some head porting is a lot better in the type-r the redline is higher due to crank weight and bearing clearances they both could use a b16 head if you'd like my true opinion.
and just don't wreck your whip doing it.

$#!T spelling and grammar,
The only thing going downhill is turds like this that bring down the honda culture with this kinda $#!T!

Looks like a five year old stepped up to the keyboard, oh wait if that was so, maybe there would be a better contribution to the thread.

US 00-01 B18C5 Type R is the best, has upgraded and better cams. B16a/B18 Type R have the SAME cams. GSR has it's own cams.
