1997 EX Will not start, IVE TRIED EVERYTHING
Hi every one! Last month I bought a 97 civic EX sedan last month for $300, it had a blown engine. Privious owner ran it out of oil. Last week I picked up a y8 that belongs in the car. I have spark, (tired two different dizzys) I have fuel i can check that its priming and I put a screw driver to the injectors and can hear them open and close. I checked the timing and all the marks are facing strait up. So I have Fuel, spark, and correct timing and the car still does not start. When I turn on the ignitioin the wiper blades twitch though????
could it be a bad ECU or could the wiper blade twitch be half the problem?

Yes firing order is correct. No CEL codes. I have not compression tested yet I will do that tomorrow. I checked all fuses 3 times and they are all fine. I can hear the main relay click and the pump prime. Thank you RonJ
So I double checked the timing and it was spot on! Double checked the firing order, that was spot on. So I went and bought me a compression tester and I got 0's accross the board. I figured that my gauge was broken so I tested it on my EM1 and it works just fine. What would cause the engine to blow 0's?

Tested today! blows right out the valves, apparently my engine I got from the junk yard had a **** ton of bent valves. putting a new head on tomorrow.
no dont replace the head. return the engine and get another one. usually they are good about their 30 day warrantys as long as you dont clean off the stock number on the engine, "that way they know its theirs"
but normally they run and test their engines before selling... hmm kinda shady here
