Thoughts on plasti dip?
As the title says. I've heard good things. And it's a growing trend. Want to know what others think. I know people do it on rims but what about body parts. And how's the finish
My boss plasti dipped his wheels on his Chevy Tahoe. (they're Escalade wheels plasti dipped black) They've help up quite well since he did them back in November and I live in PA, so they've dealt with snow and salt.

You should know that the plastidip rempalcera not ever paint over time. We must take this product as a temporary and reversible customization without consequence for the support
I was hesitant on plasti-dip at first, however, after watching many many DIY videos, I decided that it really is a good alternative to a full paint job. especially if youre on a low budget, or you want to preserve your car for future resale. I think its one of the greatest creations.
great product! i plasti dipped my rims matte white, faded wiper blades and weather strips black and they look great. also heard they are coming out with this wheel cleaner that will clean up the brake dust with just sprayin no scrubbing.
Alot of people dip whole car's. Change the color of your car a few times a year. Alot of cars look better/worse than others. That's not because of the product. It's a VERY picky product in terms of application. On large panels you have to have your distance to the panel just about perfect. Have to stay incredibly consistent and have to apply just enough, but not too much. When it is complete, and done correct, it will look perfectly even. And will last ALOT longer than 6 months if done right. In any conditions. Also don't ever sand your car before application. That defeats the purpose. Just clean it appropriately. Don't ever thin it out. Again, you're fighting against yourself. You WANT a "thick" layer of dip that will both look consistent AND be compliant for removal. The product is definitely moving forward with the recent additions of glossifier, metalizer, and pearlizer to get away from the conventional matte finish and allow a bit more creativity. I challenge you all to look up the pearlizer video on wheels posted by dipyourcar.com on youtube and tell me the pearl white doesn't look almost exactly like that of a Cadillac. Overall, really innovative project.
has anyone here tried plastidipping carbon fiber? theoretically it sounds like it shouldn't be of any harm but i'm not a paint guru.. my apr mirrors aren't in the best condition..
I don't see it being a problem as long it's not a dry-weave type carbon without an epoxy/shiny protectant on the outside
I've seen some plasti-dip cars that were done very nicely. It's very good to try out colors that you might want. I think plasti-dip is pretty durable if you do it right. If you're looking for something permanent that will never come off, i'd probably go with actual painting or powder coat.
