Who here is racing there automatic teggies? I am!! I went to the track this weekend and was hitting 16.6. I did better when i had smaller rims, now i'm on 17"

I only have aem cai and dinan performance chip.. I need an exhaust so i can be cool...

I have yet to run but I beat GSR's and Si's all day ( with basic bolt on's). Most of the ones I ran run low to mid 15's.

What was the difference in times with having smaller rims? I've only run with my 17's and was wondering what kind of time improvement I could expect just going back to my heavy *** stock 15" wheelies

Its a good idea, but I didn't its holding just fine to date no problems at all.

 

I don't know which stock 15's you might have. depending on what year your teg is you might have the spider web's or those other ones. But i have a pair of GSR swirleesand their light as hell, also they make about .3 sec difference than when i run with my 17's. So try your stocks one day, but get rid of the stock tires. Also question for you. I just purchased a Drag 3 Turbo for my auto ls. Did you have to get a turbo timer so it can cool down properly. Or do you just wait until your car cools down and then turn it off.

 

The stocks I have are actually really nice, the spiderweb RIM kind not hubcap, and not cheesy chinese star mesh ones.... anyway, I have a turbo timer and let it cool 40 seconds most the time, but I have a watercooled turbo so I can get away much easier with not letting it cool down that much at all

regarding the rim switching and faster times... i had 17 monsoons on my car before, fastest i ever got was 17.6, after switching to my stock 14's and stripping the back seat and removing the spare, i was able to hit 16.5. So i'm sure it'll help alot.

 

SWEET! mabye I can hit low 14's..... would that be 14.3 or less? I would so love to see that before I swap to manual.... hehe

A built auto will smoke a 5-speed any day. Get an auto trans oil-cooler and a performance torque convertor and automatics aren't that slow. Besides all the drag-cars running 5s are auto"magic".

 

is that what you tell yourself while you get smoked by every 5-speed teg on the road?
