Would a re-man steering rack come with a rack end bushing?
Basically I need to replace my inner tie rods, inner tie rod boots, clamps and rack end bushing. All of these parts tally up to $160 for decent quality stuff.
I found a remanufactured steering rack, with inner tie rods and boots and such already assembled
I am unfamiliar with the "rack end bushing" and where exactly it is on the rack, if its inside or out etc.
Im curious if the new reman rack would come with it

The rack-end bushing is basically internal as the passenger side inner/outer tie rods and boot need to be removed for replacement. So the bushing should be replaced with a new/reman rack.
If the reman rack is a good deal, go with it.

ya its a good deal, Im trying to find a tutorial on "adjusting" the gearbox after putting a new rack in if I go that route, tyson talks in many threads about adjusting it after doing the rack end bushing. But I cant find any info on that.
Could I simply drop my old steering rack, and install the new one, or would I need to mark anything to keep its position, or put anything in a certain position while reconnecting the new rack? Im doing new outer tie rods aswell

The replacement rack should be adjusted, i would put it in and test drive before making any adjustments.
You will most definitely need an alignment. You will need to get the tie rods adjusted as close as possible enough to drive to a shop.

Oh yeah definetely getting an alignment

to adjust it you just have to loosen the locking nut, turn the adjustment nut till it's tight, then back it off a half turn, then tighten the adjusting nut. it made a helluva difference in my rex. highway driving is so relaxing now.

You can use a large channel lock to get the 40mm jam-nut loose. Otherwise the Honda tool costs like $30. It's best to do this while the rack is still off the car because you can't fit a torque wrench on the adjuster nut once the rack is installed. The procedure goes like this:
- center the steering rack (extremely important if you have Si variable rack)
- loosen 40mm jam nut
- tighten & torque rack-guide-screw to 4ft/lbs
- back off rack-guide-screw 10-15 degrees (that's not very much)
- tighten the 40mm jam nut

Which one would my RHD ef7 have?
Pics or GTFO! Lol, my guess would be between the Si and all other models? That or maybe a yr difference. Doesnt seem like it would matter seeing as youre buying the whole rack.
Ya they have SOME rhd specific parts. They list 2 steering racks, and they are in the UK, but they list 2 different versions.
