i got a b16a and plan on using a ihi rhb5 turbo on it. they are kinda small turbos and since i've got it some people have been telling me that it wouldn't be good on a b16a considering that it revs high and has vtec. something like it will overlap at high rpms cause the turbo is too small. i know it spools fast but will i not get anypower from it at high rpms. or will it even take away power at my high rpms.

 

if its the rhb5 from the probe/mx6 yes it is too small, it wont flow enough..

 

yeah the IHI turbo will probably be a little bit too small. Try and find a mustang SVO turbo. It will work much better.

 

if you can find a compressor map for the turbo on the left side is the surge limit, basically if you make more power than a turbo can flow it kinda cavitates like a boat propeller when spun too fast... doent make power and the turbo wears out quickly... I would go for a bigger turbo...

 

how big of a turbo should i get. prefferably one with an internal wastegate and only have like $200 to spend.

 

a t3 from a svo, old 300zx..

 

anybody got a t3 for sale that would be good for my application
