Looking for ignition coil screws.....
I stripped and destroyed the 2 terminal screws (+, -) that hold the wires to the ignition coil in my 1992 civic LX. I called the dealerships and they dont sell the screws unless you buy a whole distributor package, the hardware stores say they dont have screws that small, and NAPA says they dont have them.
Does anyone have the specs on these screws (M8 or what not) so i could try to order them? If anyone has a couple extra ill toss you some extra $$ for sending. What are the chances of getting these at a junk yard?

For the hell of it, take one to home depot and check out the screw section, they have a lot esp in the little bags.
I stripped my positive one, but was able to back it out, and back it in for now just gently.

you can buy the screws by themselves from Honda. I bought about 10 of them the last time I needed one. I'll see if I can find you a part number tomorrow.

Hello, I know it's a late response to this original post but I figured I could help someone out with my recent experience.
I don't own a Honda but was helping someone who had a 1998 Civic and I was able to test and determine that the coil itself was bad. The 2 screws that the original poster mentions were both stripped so I ended up just drilling them out to save time being that I would be installing a new coil anyway. The only thing when drilling is to be careful not to go too far and damage the ends of the 2 wiring connectors that go underneath the screw heads. If you do what I did and get new screws, the screw with the thread pitch is M4x0.70. You also have to realize that there isn't a lot of space inside the 2 screw holes on the coil so you need to get the smallest length possible. I got them at Lowes for really cheap but like I said, they were the smallest length that they had available. If you get a longer screw with the same pitch, the head of the screw will not be able to hold the wiring connectors down. You can always bring the coil with you to Lowes, ask them for the smallest M4x0.70 Phillips screws and try them before you buy.
I am sure there is other info on this site on how to test the coil but it's very easy to do with a test light. I hope someone finds this useful and if you can't find the screws in a hardware store, I have some left over because they didn't sell them in sets of 2 so you can contact me for them.
