just like the title says, is it ok to run an engine for a very short time with no coolant? the reason for doing this is because i am parting out a running car. i would like to keep the engine running untill it is sold since having it running is a good way to get a better price. but my rad in my dd is leaking and i need a rad so i want to take the one out of my parts car. and i was wondering if its ok to run it for like 15 seconds to show someone that it runs and so they can hear there isnt a knock or valve tap or anything wrong with it.
thanks in advance for the input

yeah that is fine but it may have a funny idle due to there being no coolant running through the iacv and fast idle.
but a more direct answer, no it will not damage your engine

i guess i could also just fill up the engine with coolant and loop a hose from the intake hole and outtake hole and ya i know i would only have it on for like 10 seconds to show someone it isnt making any funny sounds
